At Nagasaki Castella Touan Nagasaki Honpo, we prioritize health and safety of our customers and our staff through the following hygiene management and “3Cs (closed, crowded, close-contact)” avoidance measures:

□ If you have fever, cough, or chilly sensation, or otherwise feel unwell, please refrain from entering the shop.
□ Please keep a safe distance from other customers.
□ Please support our hygiene management effort by washing hands regularly.
Castella-making Workshop
Castella, a Legacy of Nagasaki’s History during National Isolation
During the national isolation imposed by the Edo Shogunate government, the only port in Japan open to foreign countries was Dejima, where the latest culture and international exchanges flourished. Castella, a Western dessert said to originate in the Kingdom of Castile, was passed down to generations of master bakers of Nagasaki Castella for over 400 years and became a synonym for Nagasaki. Take this opportunity to learn how to make authentic Nagasaki Castella with skilled bakers at our handmade Castella shop. Enjoy a memorable and fulfilling moment in Nagasaki. What to Bring / What to Wear / Notes
Customers with artificial nails, rings, manicure, or nail art may be declined to take part in the workshop as hygienic precaution (you can observe the workshop).
